"One Day" is a film based on the David Nicholls best-seller about Emma Morley (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess) who meet after graduation on July 15th, 1988. They spend the night together but agree to simply be friends.

The next year, Emma is working as a waitress in a Mexican restaurant in London and Dexter is traveling the world, drinking and promiscuously going through several girlfriends. Eventually Dexter becomes a wealthy and highly successful television presenter on a raucous late-night show. Although meeting once in a while throughout the years, Emma meets Ian -- a comedian she doesn't find too funny. But the two start dating anyway and she becomes a school teacher.

Meanwhile, Dexter's once-glamorous mother (now diagnosed with cancer) is evidently unimpressed with the nature of his TV show. His father is also disappointed with him and bans him from the family house. The whole time, Emma is growing steadily more irritated with Ian, so she and Dexter organize a meeting over dinner.

Unfortunately, things get out of hand because Dexter gets drunk, insults Emma, gets up from the table, flirts with a blonde down the hall, and generally ignores her most of the time during this otherwise posh date. This results in the two making a public scene in front of the fashionable restaurant patrons and Emma storms off, suggesting that they break off their friendship entirely.

A few years later, Emma's former roommate gets married and both she and Dexter are invited to the wedding. There she discovers that Dexter now has a new fiancee, Sylvie, and is on the way to becoming a father. She tries to hide the fact that she is upset and they share a very brief "old-friendship kiss".

The next year, while Sylvie is out of the house under other pretenses, Dexter is trying to calm his new (wailing) daughter, Jasmine. Unbeknownst to him, Sylvie is actually having an affair with an old friend of his. They divorce.

Meanwhile, Emma and Ian (the comedian) split up and she becomes a published author. Emma and Dexter both move to Paris. Dexter hopes that they will get together again but Emma now has a new French boyfriend who plays piano in a jazz band. Smitten and taken aback by this knowledge, Dexter begins to leave. But Emma, having second thoughts, chases after him and catches up, resulting in their sharing a passionate kiss.

By the next year, they are now engaged, with Dexter running his own cafe which proves to be very lucrative. They start trying to have their own baby but are unsuccessful. Emma becomes irritated with this and Dexter promises that when she returns from work, they will go out for dinner. Unfortunately, that afternoon, while riding her bike out of a blind alley, Emma is violently hit by a truck and dies.

The next scene shows Dexter, in bed, red-eyed from apparent long hours of weeping. The film then flashes back to 1988, where, after they had been talking in bed for a while, they had gone for a walk on a hill. The story then goes back to the present day, in 2011, where Dexter visits the hill again; this time with his daughter who has now grown substantially. He reminisces about the day when he and Emma first met, and where they had exchanged phone numbers.

As they walk away from each other, Emma says she knows they will meet again. The film ends with her saying "Goodbye, Dex."

i planned to take the first bus leaving in the evening.

i was alittle late, i rushed down.
i "caught" the bus,
the bus closes its door and begin to drive off,
i knock on the door. but the driver couldnt see me.

and off it went.

nxt bus in 15mins. oh well.

got to the train station.
MY CARD REFUSED TO WORK.

what the bloody hell is wrong??!!
checked my card, got it to work.

walked home safe and sound.
but time passed way too fast at home.

sigh.

While tonight's 'super perigee' moon — the largest to appear in nearly 20 years — promises to be historic, NASA says the celestial event brings no danger to Earth.

Do not worry: Tonight’s supermoon, which will appear larger than any moon in the North American night sky since 1992, will not cause any natural disasters, NASA reassured everyone today. They’ve even go so far as to produce a YouTube video to explain the super moon’s effects.
NASA predicts the ‘super perigee moon’ will appear 15 to 30 percent larger than normal. Optimal viewing time, experts say, is just after sunset, when the glowing orb hangs just above the horizon, creating an optical illusion that makes its size appear even greater (an effect known as the “moon illusion”).
The moon, which measures a constant 3,474 kilometers across, isn’t actually changing size. Instead, the moon appears so large because it is at the “perigee” point in its orbit around earth, the closest point in the orbit’s ellipses.
The moon became perigee at roughly 3pm EST today, at which point the moon was a mere 221,565 miles from our planet, about 31,000 miles closer than its furthest distance, know as “apogee.” In addition, the moon became officially a full moon just an hour before hitting becoming perigee — a rare event that creates a stunning visual.
“The full Moon of March 19th occurs less than one hour away from perigee,” says Geoff Chester of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C, “a near-perfect coincidence that happens only every 18 years or so.”
While the close proximity off the moon does increase the its gravitational effects on the oceans to bring about “perigeean tides,” or tides that have a greater range between high and low, the changes are relatively small — about 6 inches more than normal.
So grab your cameras, or binoculars, get outside, and enjoy this magnificent heavenly event — it will be quite some time before you’ll see it again.

im glad to see Emily sort of in the lead in this movie. cos she always gets supporting roles.

and i would hope to see her in another dance movie if there is one. i mean, a movie with a dance scene.
its the most beautiful thing when she dances in them movie, like OMG, she. can. ballet.

she ballet-ed the sh*t out of the routine. i loved it alot. ALOT.

another cheesy/corny but sweet scene was towards the end, where they both ran and ended up at a "dead" end. with the adjusters all surrounding them, they've got nowhere to go.

emily's character, Elise, said: "I love you"
and they both kissed like there's no tomorrow.
the camera revolves around them and after one round as their lips parted,
they looked around, the adjusters were gone.
and one of them suddenly appears and tells them that their fate/life/whatever was being REWRITTEN.

and the movie ended with them walking down the street in slow-mo.

hope i didnt spoil it for those who have not watched it and intended to go watch. i didnt tell it as it is anyway.
these two makes the phrase "no pain no gain" seems too easy.
it makes you believe in fate.
and chance.

ok, so i went to take a closer look at phones the other day.
by closer look i meant the dummy.
well, first of all, after all that hype, im quite disappointed by the Blackberry Torch, everything seems fine BUT the QWERTY keys just too damn narrow and small. very VERY uncomfortable. :(
so, thats out. so sad. i really wanted to try that out.

now onto HTC, for the ChaCha and Salsa, i've not fiddle with one yet. but judging by the looks and adverts, they seem pretty cool. they're FB phones & even has a FB button on it.
what im afraid of is that they are the first of their kind and might have problems.

then on to HTC Desire HD, it looks pretty cool, my brother has a Desire and it seems to be working well for him, so im seriously considering that.

NOKIA, my trusted companion since i started using a mobile phone.
no, actually my first mobile phone was Motorola. hmm :/
anyway, the FIRST GOOD mobile phone i've used. nokia sort of never disappoints me. but now... all that ANDROIDs crowding the mobile industry. my used to be okay SYMBIAN is so so so SO out of place, out of fashion, out dated. but they did try to improve it. by going SYMBIAN ^3.
i initially stuck to Nokia but now i felt like i HAD to try out others. even tho the temptation to get YET another nokia is pretty strong.

now its between NOKIA & HTC.
